Description: Daughter to Merewen and Mizuki Arakida, she is torn between two kingdoms at war. Her father, controlled by his element of darkness, left when she was 7 to wage war against her mother. As she too controls the element of darkness like her father, she is hated by her mother and discriminated against by the people of Ara. Her brother, Beowulf, defends her, furious at his mother for her unjust hate towards her own daughter. Despite the issues she faces with her past, her family and the people of Ara, she remainds loyal to her mother's kingdom, fighting against Veldin to restore peace between the two kingdoms.

Weakness: Can only use his element at dusk/dawn and in the day.
Description: Son to Merewen and Mizuki Arakida, he is torn between two kingdoms at war. His father, controlled by his element of darkness, left when he was 9 to wage war against his mother. As he controls the element of light, like his mother, he is highly respected in Ara and is his mother's favourite. However, he dislikes his mother for her unjust hate towards his sister. He is loyal to his kingdom and fights against Veldin to restore the peace between the two kingdoms and hopes when he takes the throne to rid the two kingdoms of the discrimination and hate for the outcasted members of society, whose elements and appearance are deemed 'evil' or 'weird'.

Weakness: Can only manipulate water.
Description: Serious and quiet she appears cold but is actually very caring and is close with Bakitu, working well with her in a team. She and Bakitu have been friends for years and are not effective at fighting without the other. Although she mostly keeps to herself, Safaia would glady die for any one of the other generals.

Weakness: Can only manipulate water and is useless in the heat.
Description: She can be a little overemotional but is generally a happy and friendly person. She's not afraid to take charge and although she is not the most skilled elemental, she puts her heart and soul into fighting. She and Lance have a special relationship, when he left she began to train so she would be strong enough to travel the world and find him.

Description: Adopted by Jack Hawthorne's parents, he and Jack grew up together, sworn enemies. Now, torn between two kingdoms at war, they must one again face each other with the intent to kill. He is kind and generous but can be sarcastic and rude at times. He is loyal to his friends and has a soft spot for Rachel.

Description: Calm and hard to anger, she and Safaia get on well, working well as a team. Without the other they are fairly useless. She is well respected in Ara.

Description: The ruler of Ara she is strong and very aware of her position. She adores her son, Beowulf, and despises her daughter, Kitteh, for her element and fear that because of her darkness, she will turn like her father did. She despises anyone with darkness or who is 'different', outcasting them from society.

Weakness: As Darkness and Light are both strong elements and he has control over both, he struggles to keep control over them sometimes which has negative effects on him.
Description: Strong and loyal, he is one of Mizuki's favoured generals. He has a special relationship with Sophie and keeps mostly to himself.

Weakness: Darkness and her advantage is speed, when she is wounded, her attack power and speed decreases, leaving her open for attacks.
Description: Loyal to Mizuki, she does what is required of her and keeps her distance from people, spending her time training.

Element: Fire
Weakness: She is angered easily and although it can increase her power, it can also mislead her and her judgement.
Description: Blunt and violent, Eaowyn is not one to cross paths with. She follows Mizuki but tends to do things her way. Despite her cruel and rude personality, she has a heart and is close friends with Serph.

Description: She and her sister are bodyguards of Mizuki. They are Mizuki's 'girls', always in skimpy clothing, Fyona on his left arm, Wynona on his right. Fyona is firey and spontaneous and easily angered, especially when someone threatens or challenges Mizuki.

Description: She and her sister are bodyguards of Mizuki. They are Mizuki's 'girls', always in skimpy clothing, Fyona on his left arm, Wynona on his right. Wynona is calmer than her sister but definately not without a temper.

Weakness: She can only manipulate water and so without water to manipulate, she is mostly useless.
Description: Although her family has always been Velarian and mostly cruel and unforgiving people, she was always the black sheep and questions whether the Velaria side is right for her. She stays for Fala, who has become the little sister she never had. There is no doubt her powers are strong and her healing is a great advantage for the Velarian forces, she is easily manipulated, especially by the Del-Orso Twins.

Weakness: She summons creatures made out of her elemental energy which are powerful but don't last long as they require so much energy to create.
Description: As she is so young, she is mostly ignored. Despite her maturity, she does not fully understand the war and which side she belongs on. She looks up to Marina as the older sister she never had and is trained and looked after by Serph who she sees as her mother figure.

Weakness: Element only really effective with range, can't change the battlefield's weather and has no control over rain or thunder/lightning, only wind.
Description: Quiet but intelligent, she is not one to lose her temper and generally tries to keep the peace in Velaria, focusing people on their true enemy. She and Yeng Li have a special relationship and work well together.

Weakness: She is only useful working in a team or for ranged attacks.
Description: Close to Eaowyn, she has picked up a few of Eaowyn's traits but she remains a fairly calm and kind person. She is very much the mother hen and looks out for Marina and Fala especially. She is loyal to Mizuki but doesn't really have anything against Ara and avoids the war as much as she can, except when she needs to go and save Eaowyn when she gets too arrogant and gets herself into a mess.

Description: Step-brother to Lance, their relationship is difficult, separated by two kingdoms at war. Despite his rough and violent personality, he works well with the other Velarian generals, especially with the twins, when the three work together, they are almost unstoppable.

Description: He is a kind and gentle person but doesn't like letting people get too close to him. He doesn't enjoy killing and hesitates to do so. Despite his passionate hate for his brother, he doesn't really have the heart to kill him. Although he struggles to kill, he is a skilled fighter with speed and accuracy.

Weakness: Bright and easy-going, he is flirty and cheery. He prefers not to fight, but doesn't hesistate if he must and has developed his power to heal. Arrogant and obsessive with his looks, always carrying a mirror, he can be quick to anger when mistaken for a girl, avoiding fights by Scorpio dragging him away before he can attack. He and Scorpio have been friends for years and despite their differences, they get on well.

Description: He plays dirty and has no issue with killing anything that gets in his way. Arrogant and believes he is better than everyone else, not to mention cocky and rude. He refuses to let anyone boss him around and is only satisfied when he is in charge.
